Tell us about yourself, you have a wedding business, Santoria’s Events, how did this come about?
My name is Santoria Harmon. I am a California native currently residing in Dallas, Texas. I attended the Grambling State University! I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. I would consider myself very down to earth, observant, and love to travel and experience new adventures. I am a woman of faith and respect. I am the owner and lead planner for Santoria’s Events. Santoria’s Events is an event planning company that specializes in Weddings, Social, and Corporate events.
My venture for event planning started years ago while assisting other amazing companies in the event industry as well as planning my very own wedding and social events. In, 2017 I took a leap of faith and started Santoria’s Events. I am a Trained Wedding Planner and Vice President of the American Association of Certified Wedding Planners. My love and creativity for events lead me to my passion for planning. I look at myself as one of a kind and I love to be different and unique! My goals while planning and coordinating events are to ensure the client’s vision is brought to life, the event’s outcome reflects the client’s personality plus style, and last but not least have every client walk away with a smile knowing this company provided integrity, love, and passion while planning their event. I am also the co-founder of L.E.N.D. Let’s End Neonatal Deaths. Lend is a nonprofit organization that was created to eradicate neonatal and maternal mortalities through awareness, advocacy, and action!
Where do you see your brand/business/passion in the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I see my brand expanding to different cities developing and executing large productions.
My goal for my brand is to create purposeful events to impact different communities.
What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
While stepping into the world of entrepreneurship I have experienced tons of challenges. I would say one of my biggest personal challenges has been developing my brand and marketing to the ideal clientele. We all have a vision for our brand and sometimes it can become a challenge to express the vision. I have been able to overcome this challenge by networking, being more visible to my audience/clients/peers, and not being afraid of making changes and starting over.
What message is on your heart to share right now?
Live LIFE to the Fullest! Life is too short to be worrying or unhappy. Show up every day ready to accomplish a new goal. You inspire people who pretend not to see you is a true statement. Follow your dreams and passion and do not allow anyone or thing to discourage you. I am a strong believer in “Everything happens for a reason” & “What’s meant for you NO ONE can stop”. Accept all NOs as something better is coming.

Where is your favorite place to go in DFW?
OMG! DFW has so many delicious restaurants with really good vibes! I would have to say going to try new food places is my favorite place to go.

What makes Santoria the ISH?! I am fearless and self-made. I am ME on and off the internet. I am about my business at all times! I stay in my own lane and I am my own competition to make myself better each and every day. My heart is real, I will forever go above and beyond for myself, my family, my loved ones, and what I believe in. Every time I show up I’m ready to show out with class 😉

-Have a wedding vision that describes your love story & be creative

-Have a realistic budget for YOU (rather it’s a Beyonce budget or …)

-Last but not least Hire & Trust a Wedding planner so that you are able to enjoy each moment of your special wedding day
