Meet Kathryn Barry

Kathryn Barry-Ms. USA Prime Division 2

When I first started with Prime I was living in TN. I was at a low point in my life where I lacked self worth in my professional and personal lives. I wanted to make a change and learn the skills on how to become an overall better version of me. So I joined Prime in October 2021. Things were getting worse in my life where I was having constant panic attacks and losing my hair because of stress. I had to step away from Prime to reevaluate and reassess what I wanted out of my life. I needed the support of my family and to get out of the toxic relationship I was in and find a career. So, I moved back home to New Hampshire. After a few months I started a new job and got my own apartment. Things were aligning and I was asked to rejoin Prime. So ,I did as Ms. New Hampshire.

I started to learn skills like weekly goal setting, journaling, accountability, setting boundaries and much more. All while having the genuine support from women of all ages and backgrounds across the country. Stepping on stage at nationals I had never been more determined and focused in my life. I wanted to be authentic, raw and honest about my mental health journey and show how much this system has changed my life. I was so overwhelmed with emotions stepping out on that stage for evening gown. I got off stage and was so proud of myself I started crying. Only to be met with hugs and high fives from dozens of my sister queens. I truly couldn’t believe that I did it and that moment I realized I had completely turned my life around. I knew whatever the outcome, that I left it all out on that stage and NO ONE could take away the skills, friends and new found confidence I had built. And then, I was crowned as Ms.USA Prime Division 2. I had never been more proud of myself in my life than in that moment. It is something I will never forget.

For 2023, I want to keep building upon this new woman I have become. I am going to become stronger mentally and physically but become more financially fit as well. I will be the best leader I can for the new women coming in by embracing my strengths and acknowledging my weaknesses. I want to provide these women with the crucial skills I learned and teach them how to apply it to their individual lives. I will feel the most accomplished  when competition comes this year and each women I lead to that stage recognizes how they completely improved their quality of life through Prime.
