Meet Lashaunda Ewing

My name is La’Shaunda Ewing, and I am an accomplished individual with a diverse range of skills and experiences. My background in I.T., education, ministry, entrepreneurship, life coaching, and event planning showcases my versatility and dedication to personal and professional development. I am a licensed minister of the Gospel and an associate minister at 1st Baptist Church of Kennedy Heights Church. I have achieved Life Member status as a Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority member. These are just a few organizations that highlight her commitment to serving her community and making a positive impact. My dedication to my hometown of Cincinnati is evident through my volunteer efforts and community service through my church, sorority, partnerships, and fellowships.

As a Senior Colleague Engagement Analyst at Archer Daniels Midland, I work collaboratively with staff of all levels throughout our global organization to address gaps through training development, fostering positive working relationships, and promoting employee engagement.

My entrepreneurial spirit shines through as the Founder and Owner of WisdomFlows, LLC. The company’s motto, “Letting wisdom and spirit be your guide,” focuses on providing guidance, support, and coaching to help individuals navigate their personal and professional journeys.

My background and accomplishments reflect a well-rounded and driven individual dedicated to making a difference in her community and helping others achieve their potential.

How long have you been doing what you do?

If you ask others, they will say I have always been a motivational Speaker, Minister of the Gospel from the choir stand to the pulpit or any platform available, and Life Coach for years. Still, everything became official when I launched my business in April of 2023. Concerning my career in corporate America, I have been in Information Technology for over 24 years. I spent a couple of years teaching at the collegiate and secondary levels, which gave me another level of empathy for men, women, and children of every color and creed. To be able to shape a life in its early stages is one of the most rewarding achievements that I hold dear to me. Even recently, a former student was sharing my impact on their lives with someone at a speaking engagement. I had no clue, but God honored and blessed me because I took the opportunity.

What have been your challenges?
As a business owner,  an example of a challenge I experienced is having the correct support team. People will always say what they will do, but showing and executing are different.   I needed help, especially with having a social media presence. Social media can be a huge blessing but a great distraction when focusing on what is next. You can get lost in the scrolling when all you had planned to do was make a post.

I’m now blessed to have an undergraduate soror offer her services to gain experience and others who ask what I can do. We need to understand everyone will not support your vision because they don’t understand, want it for themselves, or do not want to see you excelling without them. This created another challenge: Only some people can go to this next level with you. Be okay with people falling off. They have given you all they could, and you and them will be okay. Love them at a distance with respect and dignity. Another challenge is recognizing I do not have to do it all myself and giving myself grace when something does not get done as I expected or when I expect it. Another challenge I used to have was not questioning my business, even if it was similar to someone else. My gift and message are for someone, so I must keep going no matter what! I’m appointed for a time such as this, and I am grateful.

What are your greatest accomplishments?

One of my greatest accomplishments occurred this April of 2023 when I launched my business officially and became a self-published author with the release of my first book, “B.O.S.S. Rights.” In “B.O.S.S. Rights,” I intimately share my leadership journey and how I overcame the barriers to my success. I offer tools in the book to help you clarify your gifts and level up. I use my stories, which have not always been easy to share, and scriptures to help you understand the authority within so you can make BOSS moves. Writing this book freed me from my past and gave me an even bigger voice to help set other captivates free.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to expand my Life Coaching business to help others understand that they are a B.O.S.S. (Built for Opportunities, Success, and Service) no matter their current situation or thoughts of themselves. I want to help them embrace the Power that lives on the inside so they can help others realize their full potential.

I’m also looking forward to planning a B.O.S.S. conference. It would be a one-day conference to unleash your B.O.S.S. We can’t continue to walk in fear (false evidence appearing real). Everyone has a story; it is time to own it, tell it for yourself, and let no one hold your past over your future. The world is ready for you, so let’s walk it out.

I’ve sold over 400 books,  so taking the book and workshop on the road with more speaking opportunities would be amazing.

I feel so much is ready to pour out of me, so I must focus and hear from G.O.D., not the people, including myself (let the imposter syndrome go). I want to live on purpose in this season of my life. I recognize my latter shall be greater.

Any other information/words of wisdom you would like to share?

I want to share with anyone reading this article that you are a B.O.S.S. and an overcomer! How do I know? Because you are still living, your life has a purpose.

You survived, so now go tell someone about it! It’s never too late to be a B.O.S.S.  Someone needs to hear your story to know they can make it. Let your mess become your message. Let your pain lead you to your purpose. Under the test gave you a testimony.

Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

And I will leave you with this quote by Jessica Duckett – “Be confident, be powerful, and make moves like a boss!”

You are better than you believe. It’s your season! So make it count.
