My name is Holli Yount. I am a 48 year old passionate wife of 25 years to my incredible husband Jamie and a mom of two amazing boys- James Jr. age 19 and Charley age 10. Once you get to know me, you will soon discover that I live out the saying: Family is EVERYTHING! It’s because of that very belief that I decided to homeschool my boys 11 years ago – what a fun adventure that has been! With one graduated and one getting ready to grow into his tween years, the opportunity to be the loudest voice in their lives has given me the opportunity to show them what my own mother showed me: That Motherhood is the Ministry of Availability. Nothing means more to me than raising kind, respectable, Jesus loving young men. But being together full time as a homeschool mom also includes my very best friend –MY HERO Jamie. Not only is he the resident principal of our school but we also have been in business together for 15 years.
We help people with their health and wellness in a purpose driven faith, based company of provision called Zurvita. Zurvita means THE RISEN LIFE. And that leads me right into what I am now on a mission to do. Above all, I am fiercely devoted to Jesus, family and EMPOWERING WOMEN in Christ. I am a firm believer in living out Psalm 139:14 I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERULLY MADE!
As I look around the country today, I am amazed by how many women live their lives by the lies they believe. Many of them struggle with their own identity and I want to change that. I want them to live out Psalm 139:14 in their own lives. I want them to understand at the very depth of their souls that they are QUEENS – ROYALTY – DAUGHTERS OF THE MOST HIGH! To do that, I know now what had to take place years ago- that something had to change. So in 2010,I decided that I wouldn’t just “talk” about change, but that I would do something about it. After much prayer God called me to start a Christian Women’s Group. I believed that there were other women looking for the type of sisterhood that I was looking for.
I was so fearful at first, after all, what if no one wanted to join? I had no experience with running any kind of a group and I felt unqualified to do so. With the encouragement of my husband and a few close friends, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and surrender to God all of my fears. If He called me then I knew He would qualify me. That was extremely hard, because my whole life I felt like I was constantly trying to maintain control. I had to learn to release and trust. I realized that we can go through life one of two ways: We can posture for position, constantly trying to maintain control, or we can live wholly submitted to God, trusting Him with every step.
But did you know that God will never bless faithless posturing? He won’t pour provision into a clenched fist. So I decided to open my hands and receive and release. I trusted where He was taking me. And goodness- HE ALWAYS SHOWS UP AND SHOWS OUT!
Today our group (I use “our” because it’s not just my group – it’s God’s group- it’s the Sister’s group) POW (Power of Women) is living out the very calling God placed in my heart 14 years ago. It is a group that encourages, empowers and uplifts. We pray together, we cry together and we laugh together. Everyone belongs and everyone matters. We host monthly gatherings at my home and we are working on our first ever POW RETREAT this year!
In our Facebook Group we host daily devotionals and Bible Studies and we will continue to live out Psalm 139:14! I believe as women we can change the world, but I believe it starts in our very homes and within our hearts. No matter which season you find yourself in at the moment, determine to release your grip on anything you’re holding too tight. Breathe in faith. Exhale fear. And know that God does His best work through His surrendered saints.
I know that I know that I know these very truths spoken to me from God are what every woman needs to hear: YOU MATTER, YOU ARE LOVED, YOU ARE ENOUGH, YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS, YOU ARE WELL-ABLE, YOU WILL NOT BE SHAKEN, YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE TO FEAR, YOU ARE DETERMINED, YOU CAN CHOOSE JOY, because YOU ARE GREATLY BLESSED, HIGHLY FAVORED AND DEEPLY-DEEPLY LOVED.
