What’s a Lady without a little “Polish”?

Kelah Mckee, also known as “ThePolishedLady” is a Media Specialist whose platform is used to interview black entrepreneurs and bring positive awareness to their brands through way of storytelling. In addition, ThePolishedLady is an event host and your favorite influencer in yellow on social media. She has worked from the bottom to the top, starting her career at the local radio station in the promotions department for five years, then working two years for a local magazine company and now the proud owner of her own independent media outlet platform “ThePolishedLady LLC.”  Kelah has covered events like Revolt world , interviewed Nia Long, Alex Vaughn , 19keys and many more.  She is also a mom to ThePolishedPrince.

What motivated Kelly to begin this line of work? Just one word: Necessity. “I just felt like there were no news outlets out there constantly sharing the good things that African Americans do in our communities.”

Through ThePolished Lady, Kelah is able to provide interviews to her clients that tell their brand story, influencer services such as product reviews and creative reels, consultations to help with social media marketing, hosting events and her “Yellow Carpet” experience: which features Kelah attending your event and capturing the moment live on social media through interviews and interactions.

Interviewing Actress, Producer, Director Kim Fields

Kelah is no stranger to adversity, in this line of work, you are constantly putting yourself out there and will her alot of no’s, but she wants to remind everyone “don’t let that stop you from doing the great things you were called to do”

“I promised myself the day my son was born I would never give up on my dreams because my son is here. So he’s gotten a chance to live in my dreams beside me.” I show up to every job energetic and excited to make magic happen on her yellow microphone!

While she makes it look effortless, ThePolishedLady doesn’t look like what she’s been through. A year ago, she was homeless with everything she owns in storage and was taking Ubers from Brownsburg between her son’s school and work. But she didn’t let this uncomfortable situation stop her, instead it fueled her. The lesson that she shares with all of us is that success doesn’t happen overnight, and your setbacks are the setup for your comeback.

What’s next for this yellow Diva? She is on target to have her own tv show and start training young ladies in media.
