Meet our NOLA Girl, Darriell Robinson

 About Me…

Darriell Robinson is a native of New Orleans and resident of North Texas. Studied Law at Purdue University and recently admitted to Harvard University. Member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division, NALA, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Beta Kappa Honor Society, Golden Key International Honor Society, and The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement. She is a Tenured staff member of 15 years at the University of North Texas at Frisco where she is the Senior Program Coordinator who oversees four departments: Financial Aid & Scholarships, Student Accounting, Records & Registration, and Admissions. Former classically trained ballet dancer at N.O.C.C.A ( New Orleans Center for Creative Arts), Lone Star College, Benjamin’s School of Dance, and Kelly’s School of Dance. Darriell is the mother of 5 amazing, picturesque, and intelligent kids.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

Over the course of the next five years, I see myself continuing to climb the ladder as an administrator in leadership within higher education. Meanwhile, using my endorsement as Corporate Paralegal. My mantra and credence has always been to serve by being a vessel to others.

What is your biggest accomplishment and why?

One of my most significant accomplishments to date was being selected to represent the State of Louisiana to clinch and win 1st place at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s SCLC( Southern Christian Leadership Conference) during the annual National Oratorical Competition held in Atlanta, Georgia. My prize consultation will forever be forged and cemented within my heart. I experienced the whimsical and most prestigious honor of meeting and having lunch with a few of our nation’s most prolific pioneering leaders: Mrs. Coretta Scott King, Andrew Young, Joseph Lowery, and Dr. Martin Luther King’s children.  Following this, I was presented with a host of college scholarships.  This experience streamlines how imperative it is to always carry myself with pose, diction, and grace because you never know whose life you may impact.

What message is in your heart to share?

Always remember the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.  It’s never too late to purposefully and intentionally pursue your passion, goals, dreams, and aspirations. Crafting a visual or vision board will assist you on your journey of executing goals one by one.

Where there is no vision, the people perish….

Proverbs 29:18

What is your Super Power?

My superpower is my innate ability to utilize multiple dexterities while parenting, working full-time, volunteering, and spearheading a host of extracurricular activities. As a mother to five witty, talented,  animated, picturesque children, it’s important for me to lead by faith.

I am intentional about living a life that will serve as a great example to my 5 children!

What do I love most about New Orleans?

The sheer essence of our eclectic city, coupled with the warm-heartedness of the people is unmatched. The resilience, grit, bravery, and tenacity displayed by the people of New Orleans will transcend for generations to come. The culmination of our diverse heritage has distinctly placed our cuisine as a world-class favorite.
