Empowering Women: Dr. Nikita L. Burt’s Remarkable Journey from Academia to Pageantry and Advocacy

Tell me about yourself.

I am Dr. Nikita L. Burt Ph.D A native of Chestertown Md . Dr. Burt is Currently employed By Washington College. A Proud member of Chi Sigma Delta Sorority Inc. A Dignified member of Janes United Methodist Church. I am the Queen To one Prince Kyle Jr. I was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I received a BS Degree in Political Science from East Carolina University, a Master’s Degree from Wilmington University & Doctorate From American Intercontinental University. I started my Pageantry Journey on January 12, 2014 With the Miss American Beauties Plus Pageant System, I competed with them for Four years before being crowned Lifetime Queen, Queen of Queens, and Maryland State Pageant Director. My Platform has always been Empowering Women to Succeed at the Greatest Potential advocating the dangers of Domestic Violence one person at a time. There is so much power in numbers. In 2021 I started an Organization entitled Her Crown LLC This organization helps, advocates, and provides support to women and children who have been displayed by Domestic Violence. It has been an honor to serve my state in a huge capacity. I am currently the National Director For Majestic Majesty Pageants, under Royal Productions and Events by NM – We are Raising Young Girls to be Queens

What is your platform?

Empowering Woman to Succeed at their Greatest Potential advocating the Dangers of Domestic Violence One Woman at a time.

If I can help somebody along my Journey then my living shall not be in vain.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

My Proudest accomplishment is seeing Queens who have trained under me at the state level. Flourish at Nationals and Bring home the National title

What have you learned from pageantry?

I have learned that no matter what always give it your best, you never know who has been inspired by your journey.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

Most people don’t know about me is that I am a Domestic Violence Survivor and I am also a victim of Sexual Assault.

If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

It would be my Dad , he passed away in May of 2019 he was my biggest supporter and cheerleader.

Tell me the story of your most embarrassing moment

One of the most embarrassing moments was losing my first national pageant. It was so hard for me. Because I went in with the mindset that I had it one. I quickly learned it’s not about the added bling. It’s what you do for your community with or without your crown.
