WHEW!!! What a difference a year makes! This edition is the one year anniversary of SITIGirl Cincinnati Magazine! When I started this journey last year, I was living out one of my dreams-owning my own magazine. I also was getting back in touch with my love for writing outside of journaling. This journey has bought me in contact with so many phenomenal women who have inspired and encouraged so many people and I hope to continue this legacy.
Through this process I have learned so much about myself. I have learned that I am brave. I am strong. I am resilient. I am wise. However, the biggest lesson I have learned is that I am worthy. Even on the best of days and even on my worst days, I am still worthy. This month’s edition is titled “Queens who Empower Queens.” I can’t tell you how many times during this past year someone has had to either straighten my crown or remind me that this to shall pass.
So often in life we are caught up in competing with each other to see who is the best. While we all want to be the best, it is not about being better than everyone else. It is about being the best version of you. In a world where everyone is competing against each other and undermining each other to see who can scramble to the top the fastest, we often miss out on the beauty of the journey. The beautiful, authentic relationships that can be made. But most importantly , we end up missing out on the beauty of ourselves. We fall in love with the grind, but what happens when the grind stops? What happens when you have accomplished everything you set out to do? What then?
Now I am taking my time on this journey called life. Allowing myself to heal and owning my narrative of what success looks like to me. I am discovering new passions, new dreams, a new me and I am so excited for what’s to come. For those of you who have been on this journey with me, I am forever grateful for your love and support. Just know, the best is yet to come!
