She is Not a Wounded Warrior, She is Fierce

Welcome our SITIGirl, Ms. Carissa Alexandra Daniels, the current reigning Ms. Classic Beauties International 2022-2023; speaker, indie filmmaker, mentor, and founder of Survival2Success Academy, helping victims heal and become successful survivors.

Twenty-five years ago, she survived a domestic violence relationship, spending 4 months as part of the underground confidential shelter system that protects victims whose lives have been threatened. Carissa felt compelled to help other survivors after her experience. Helping others to not only survive but thrive this experience is what motivates and inspires her.

In 2005, Carissa launched cyber-advocacy, and this grew into the Survivor2Sucess Academy roughly two years ago.   Through Survivor2Success Academy and WarriorQueen productions Carissa is able to share her story and advise others of resources available to create their own success stories. She is active in education, advocating for public policies related to domestic violence, facilitating workshops and mentoring survivors as they build success. Through her degree is in communication media, she is also an independent filmmaker.

In addition to surviving domestic violence, Carissa’s journey has been far from easy.  She also faces other challenges.  The greatest challenges have been financial and health related. Financial abuse starts while you are still in the relationship, but it’s also present in 99% of cases of post separation abuse. Her health issues are both genetic and trauma triggered. Does this discourage her?  No!  “Both have meant I had to get more creative to do what I do. What is your greatest accomplishment? I beat the odds to have my miracle daughter, and stayed safe despite long term domestic violence issues, for 25 years now!”

She has been called to serve, and that form of serving comes in advocating for all survivors, supporting their healing and success-building, and to share those powerful stories that she has been entrusted with. As for the future, Carissa is currently writing her memoir, which highlights her life as a contemporary Christian music artist, surviving being held prisoner by serial rapist and murderer Charles Rodman Campbell, and her journey to healing.  This book will also include some of the stories from when she was one of the first domestic violence cyber-advocates.  She is also expanding her online presence and continuing to build my Survival2Success Academy which is allowing her to serve more victims than ever before.

Looking to get involved?  Carissa is looking for volunteers to help with fundraising, a media assistant, an agent, and publisher for her books as well as looking for survivors who have successfully started over and are interested in mentoring survivors in my Academy.

Carissa would like to invite our readers to tune in as she crowns her successor on October 22.  Classic Beauties International is a virtual pageant that will be live streamed on Facebook. You will find the link to that as well as other livestream events that she’s doing on domestic violence related topics, on her Ms. Classic Beauties International page on Facebook between now through October 22
