Where do you see your brand/business/passion in the next 5
years?

In the next five years, I envision my brand, Mindful Wellness Reset:
Relax, Release & Renew, serving individuals, couples, and families on a
global level, by way of virtual therapy, coaching, and mental health
awareness, advocacy, and policy implementation. My goal is to reach
the masses, to improve one’s quality of life in any way that “GOD”
allows.·

What has been your biggest accomplishment and why?
As I reflect on my life, I can honestly say that my biggest
accomplishments under “GOD”, and being a mother and grandmother to
an amazing group of individuals is opening up my mental health private
practice.
After being retired for over a decade, in 2020, in the midst of the
COVID-19 crisis, I received a nudge from “GOD”, to come out of
retirement and serve those in need. Although I didn’t mind serving others, as I had always been active in my community, volunteering and
providing pro-bono mental health services to those in need, I was afraid
of the pandemic itself. However, when I recognized the worldwide, swift
increase in mental health crises due to the pandemic, which caused the
loss of innocent lives, jobs, homes, and overall stability in one’s life,
especially within African-American communities, I stepped into the role
that “GOD” created specifically for me. As a passionate mental health
provider, this was easy for me to do.

In contrast, as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, this was scary for me due to the
negative impact of COVID-19. However, by the Grace of “GOD,” after
working for an agency serving a population that I love for a year, I still
felt like something was missing. I felt led by “GOD” to branch out on
my own and serve varying populations. After going back and forth with
myself for almost a year, fearing that I would fail, I took a leap of faith
and trusted “GOD” to lead me down that path that “HE” paved for me to
travel. On October 5, 2022, “GOD” allowed me to give birth to Mindful
Wellness Reset: Relax, Release & Renew, PLLC. Today, I am happy to
say that I am doing what I like doing best: being of servitude to others
who are experiencing mental health challenges.

What message is on your heart to share right now?
My heart tells me to encourage those currently struggling with mental
health challenges to seek professional help. Please do not allow
the negative stigma attached to addressing your mental health needs,
such as fear, shame, and/or guilt, to prevent you from reaching out and
setting up an appointment with a mental health provider to discuss your
mental health needs. I’ll extend that invitation further; therapy can also
benefit those making it, but only by a thin thread. Engaging in therapy for bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, or bi-annual
maintenance can be very beneficial, as it allows one to learn healthy
coping skills to be utilized on a daily basis, to prevent falling into
previous unhealthy behaviors.

My recommendation to everyone, with or without current mental health
struggles, is to please try to engage in daily self-care for at least 60
minutes to decrease your stress by doing something that relaxes,
releases, and renews you. Remember, we can’t properly take care of
others if we don’t properly take care of ourselves. It is very true… mental health is the new wealth. We not only need it, we deserve it. I join you today to take the first step to showing up as your best self!

What do you consider your “Superpower” or as we call it, What
makes you the ISH?
My Superpower is my relationship with “GOD.” “GOD” has been, is,
and forever will be my Superpower because without “HIM,” there
would not be a Dr. Catina Miller. As a child, I always knew that my
“GOD” given talent was listening to, encouraging, and motivating others
to improve their quality of life. As an adult, I graciously walked into my
“GODLY” assignment of serving individuals, couples, families, and
communities by assisting them with improving their overall well-being.
When I work with my clients, I’m not the only expert in the room, as I
believe that just as my clients obtain mental wellness knowledge from
me, I learn from their experiences as well. Therefore, my clients are
experts too. My therapeutic approach is to empower my clients to
intentionally live their best lives mentally, physically, relationally,
emotionally, and spiritually. It is very true, that mental health is wealth!

My superpower is my relationship with GOD!

What do you love most about New Orleans?
The thing that I love most about New Orleans is I get to call it my
hometown. I am proud to say that I am a New Orleanian! I will forever
be grateful to my amazing parents, who raised me in a city that is diverse
in every aspect of life, through various cultures, different languages, delicious food, and around-the-clock entertainment. In addition to my love for my city’s diversity, I love attending Mardi Gras parades (in which my faves are Endymion, Bacchus, NOMTOC, and Zulu), the Zulu Ball, Essence Music Festival, Jazz Fest, and visiting the historical buildings and taking a stroll down Bourbon street with family and friends. No matter where I reside, New Orleans will forever be home to me!

How can people get in contact with you? What’s up next for you?
In addition to clinical services, I am committed to reducing the stigma
surrounding mental health. I believe that by openly discussing mental
health, I can promote awareness and encourage individuals to seek help
when they need it. I partner with local organizations, churches, and other
mental health providers, via seminars and workshops, promoting mental
health awareness and providing mental health resources and referrals to
those in need.
If you or someone you may know, are facing mental health challenges,
