Get In Good With Your Health: VaJayJay Chronicles

Hey Yall

It’s ya Girl Lindsay aka “The VaJayJay Girl”

Yes! I own that title because 9 times outta 10 I’m talking to you about your VaJayJay!

I wanna know if you’re caught up on your check ups…have you taken your kids to get their HPV vaccine? If you haven’t? What are you waiting for?

Did you know there were several strains to HPV..and yea not all of them can lead to Cancer..but some of them do..why not protect your child while you can? Did you know the HPV vaccine is 97% effective?!? I like those odds! I don’t know about you!

Also..YES it is sexually transmitted however that isn’t the only way you can test positive for HPV and there isn’t always obvious symptoms. Cervical Cancer is just one of the Cancers that HPV can lead to..considered a “silent killer” because there aren’t always symptoms. The other types of Cancers are: Ovarian, Vulvar, Vaginal and Uterine.

So why am I always talking about Cervical Cancer? Well..I am a CERVIVOR and an Advocate. I was diagnosed with Stage IIIc Cervical Cancer in Nov of 2022..and for me, it all started with bleeding.

I had my yearly check ups..I had abnormal paps but they never led to anything serious..until they did. I had NOT been vaccinated with the HPV vaccine..it was unheard of in my time…and when it was presented to me when my oldest was 11 years old, it was presented as an “optional” thing that she would need once she was sexually active. I didn’t know enough about it then and they weren’t forth coming with exactly how important it was for her to get it..so I declined.

Now that I know..I have gotten the rest of my daughters vaccinated and plan to have my son vaccinated. I want to do everything I can to prevent the next generation from experiencing what I had to.

It is my mission to educate, advocate and communicate to our community and others so that this is something everyone is talking about..so that there is no longer a stigma..and for those that are going through it..not to feel alone and unsupported.

My goal is for a Healthier Mind, Body and Spirit and that is why I’m starting my Non Profit Get In Good With Your Health. It is contributing to the health and well being of your mind, body and spirit thru Health Fairs/Pop Up Shops across the U.S. and Beyond.

I need people to get serious about their health. We only have one life to live. Let it be a Healthy One.

Thanks for Your Time!!
