Business/Talent?

I operate a company called Royalist Management. Through my business, we help elevate the personal, private and business affairs of people or entities through administrative execution and planned organization.

Talent wise, I have the gift of gab, so hosting, emceeing, public speaking and the like flow well with me. Secretly, I can sing, dance, act and write as well.

Where are you from?

Hailing from a city rich in culture, dipped in a gumbo of people around the world, with the sweetness of King Cake and some “Laissez les bons temps rouler”, where baby is a term of endearment and you catch embellished beads from the sky, I am your Ms. Royalty International Ambassador, Queen Aftan Williams! New Orleans, Louisiana is where I am from, born and raised!

What are you passionate about? What’s the driving force behind it?

I am highly passionate about people knowing their worth and walking in it! When I was a little girl about 14 years old, I read in a newspaper that a 10-year-old was pregnant by a 22-year-old and he was about to be sentenced to go to jail. In my 14-year-old mind, I begin to think about the ridicule that a 10-year-old girl would face over the 22-year-old man because she would bear the visualization of pregnancy. I imagined that she would take much of the blame. In my household, I was only told how amazing, special, unique, and beautiful I was. And I wanted to create a strength haven for young ladies, to feel the positive push of what I felt as I developed. CROWN UP is a call to action. I want every boy and girl to understand their worth as royalty and carry themselves as kings and queens. This will instill innate confidence that will be obvious on the outside. Knowing who you are in this world is truly half the battle. I am willing to be used as a vessel to help them fight forward. Through outreaches, programs, events, and activities they learn life skills that sometimes get neglected, and they get a chance to see their invisible crown more clearly. Originally, it was just for boys and girls but now I know men and woman need this push as well!

What’s your skill set?

I am logistical. I have a sharp capability to see the thing before it is the total manifestation and organize the components to make it come to fruition. This allows me to be comfortable with project management, leadership placement, programming and administrative execution. I also have a deletion of fear when it comes to the masses so I am able to speak to large groups (or smaller ones) and release calls to action that actually get done.

What sets you apart from others in your same field?

Every human is unique! I think I am simply… me! I add relatability, realness, rarity, rational thinking, respect, responses, results, readiness and of course royalty to each situation.

What’s your purpose in life?

My purpose in life is revealing itself as time continues. I know I am called to women. I know I am called to speak publicly. I know I am called to gather. I know people trust me immediately. I know I am unafraid of people. I know I am called to do Kingdom work for God. I know I am called to affirm, and I know that all of those are ingredients of my purpose. I also know that pieces of my purpose are being fulfilled through my current actions and I acknowledge that there is more to do!

If you could choose any career in the world, would you still choose the career or talent you have?

Absolutely! I love what I do! I just want acceleration to grander scales and larger platforms. I believe it is happening even this year!

What would you tell your younger self?

Be louder! They need to hear you. There is a reason you are unafraid of people. Do it holding God’s hand and know, you can only go higher from here! Oh and, you may not be a pediatrician, but you will be a DOCTOR!

Knowing what you know now, would you change anything in your past?

There are so many events, decisions and moments I wish I could change because I know much more and feel much deeper. From time before the deaths of people I love, to wrongdoings, pictures I should have taken, contacts I needed to have obtained and other regrets. But because I cannot, I take the lesson and apply it to my life so that I never have to experience wishing I could rewind ever again. I strive for excellence now and cherish each day.

Who are your role models?

My role models are women who have a vision and push until it comes to fruition in real life. I look and say “yaaaassssssssssss honey! You did it! You betta do it big! Let’s go” with proverbial pom poms in my hands! They make me pattern after the greatness that is their example and put my foot on the gas for the furtherance of my efforts and the reality of my plans.

What would you say to those that are starting out in your field?

Paid internships are wonderful to start! Do your research on the client. Learn all you can about each part of their business and family. Internalize their quirks, irks, gripes, loves and happy points. Apply what you know accordingly and fuse it with the excellence of your work. Be discreet. Sign paperwork after you and another you trust, read it thoroughly. Be vocal with your client and quiet to their audience, friends and even family. You never know who wants what from or for them. Take care of yourself too and raise your price accordingly. Fix your face! Smile, you are happy to be here!

What is your favorite quote? Explain?

I have a few favorites:

“Find a way or make one”. This is the motto of Clark Atlanta University and my life’s philosophy. This command is self-explanatory.

“I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me” Philippians 4:13. Yes, I can. I may do anything I want in the Earth realm as long as it is through Christ.

“…And in all your getting, get understanding” Proverbs 4:7. This is how you come to resolve and reach a solution. This is very necessary!

What is your first International Project that you have completed, or that you want to complete?

Thus far I have participated in virtual renderings for International Women’s Day, International Pageant Day and International Day of the Girl Child. I would love to put my feet to work on international soil working with the upliftment and aid of the children of that chosen country.

If you were an animal, what would it be and why?

A lion. Always a lion because I am a Leo and a lion/lioness is the royalty of the jungle!

What does entrepreneurship mean to you and why?

Entrepreneurship means making space to get paid for what you do well and easily. It may get rough some days but there will be a beautiful payoff many days. This is necessary if you feel an unction to do so because you are fulfilling a piece of your purpose.

They would normally say women are catty in pageantry, what does pageantry mean to you?

Women being known as “catty” in pageantry should not normally be said. We are not cats! We are humans pursuing the same thing or at least we should be. Each queen is eminent and all that compete with her should surround and uplift her in love. To me, pageantry means that your platform (which you desire to execute to cause gorgeous change or beautiful maintenance) is magnified and highlighted royally as you stand on the pageant system’s platform and expand your network. Bonds should be formed and sisterhood might be solidified.

What works in the community have you done and what does it mean for you to give back?

Whew! With this title alone, I have done 41 community service efforts and appearances (and counting) at a combined total of 123 hours. It is both my honor and pleasure to serve others. Using my hands, head, heart and hearing towards another brings me actual joy especially if I am aiding in positive change. I am who I am because of these kinds of efforts. Giving is a must! It is necessary. We all need somebody at some point. I am happy to do my assignments with a smile and grateful to be able to do so.

If you could walk in anyone’s shoes, who would it be and why?

You know what, I like my pink shoes just fine. Many times, we look at other people’s lives that play out in front of our faces but have no idea what is really going on behind closed doors (at home, in their minds, with their finances, past traumas etc.). I want to keep walking my path. I can only go higher from here!

If you could leave a lasting impression, what would that look like?

My lasting impression should always look (feel, sound, smell etc.) like ROYALTY! By the time I leave your presence, I hope that I have impacted you positively, made you smile, gave you some useful information, shared a relatable moment and supped with you.
