Case Closed…changing your narrative

She had no idea that meeting an attorney near her hometown as a teenager would change her life forever. Meet Ashley Letitia Edwards-Davis, Esquire, an Equal Opportunity and Compliance Investigator for a T10 university.  In addition to being a pageant Queen, wife and future mom (Baby girl Davis is on the way!), she is also a licensed attorney in North Carolina.  Ashley encourages and inspires others to close the case on their strongholds by using her personal platform and program called Case Closed: On the Road to Recovery and Restoration.

Ashley investigates harassment and discrimination matters in the healthcare and university realm as well as train medical and university leadership on diversity, equity and inclusion.

When she’s not busy in the board room or classroom, Ashley is also the reigning Queen Eminence of the National Sorority Pageant presented by Royal Productions.

On her personal mission, Ashley has created Case Closed to show people how to close the case on their strongholds and live fulfilled and prosperous lives.  It is easy to stay in a familiar space, such as depression, anxiety, and unforgiveness.  However, you cannot reside in those places forever.  Case closed uses a five-step program to recover and restore your life.  The five steps are: (1) acknowledgement, (2) release, (3) reflect, (4), plan, and (5) action.

“There is nothing wrong with acknowledging your strongholds.  By giving them a name, you will know exactly what to release.  Give yourself permission to release.”  After acknowledging and releasing, you have to reflect on what had you bound because it prepares you to plan.  Formulate a strategic plan to recover relationships, self-worth, purpose, or anything you may have lost while living under your stronghold.  After you make the plan, you must move!  You must walk out your plan, even though it may feel different than what used to consume you.  “I am not saying this journey will be short or easy.  Give yourself the green light to make a fresh start.”

When asked about her greatest accomplishment, Ashley beams from ear to ear with her response. “Marrying my loving husband, Bryon.  Marriage was not in my “plan” until I met Byron.  He showed me that I am worthy of love and peace.  While in my transitional phase, he did not waiver or complain.  If anything, he spoke positivity into me and prayed over me, even when I was not looking or aware.  He is the true example of a leader and one that deserves a loving helpmate.  I am proud to be taken from his rib.” Looking at their photos, I think that feeling is pretty mutual.

The Davis’

Ashley’s future plans are to travel the county, even the world, to speak on Case Closed.  Everyone has at least one stronghold they deserve to break through.  Professionally, I plan to create seven streams of self-made income, while working within my various passions.  She would also like to start her own law firm practicing family law and providing pro bono services for domestic violence victims and survivors.

One thing Ashley wants every woman to remember:

“If I can change my narrative, so can you!  It may not be the easiest task, but you are worth every second on this Earth.  If you want to close the case on your strongholds, I am here to love on you, pray for you, and encourage you.  Let’s rewrite your story from where you are.”
