Breaking Barriers and Embracing Curves: Bridget Wilson’s Inspiring Journey

Greetings, lovely readers! Allow us to introduce you to a trailblazer and an inspiration, Bridget Wilson, a proud native of Wilmington, North Carolina. With an impressive 20-year tenure in the beauty industry, Bridget’s incredible journey into the world of modeling began 15 years ago, setting her on a path to challenge norms and redefine beauty standards.

Bridget’s career initially started as a nail technician, where she reveled in the artistry of creating the perfect look for everyday individuals and models alike. Yet, beneath the surface, a burning desire to embrace her true calling as a full-figured model simmered. Even as a young girl, Bridget dreamt of a world where women like her were celebrated and represented in the fashion industry—a vision that was ahead of its time.

The turning point came in the early ’80s when BBW Magazine, the first publication to feature plus-size bodies and fashion, graced the scene. Bridget’s destiny crystallized before her eyes, and she knew she was meant to be a part of this revolutionary movement. In 2005, she took her first bold step onto the runway by auditioning for “Escape 2 Sisterhood,” a local fashion show. Her casting marked the beginning of an exhilarating journey that she couldn’t resist, and she was hooked.

Her captivating presence has also graced the pages of magazines like “Slay Queenz” and “Very Full Figured Magazine,” leaving an indelible mark on the world of plus-size fashion.

Bridget’s star has only continued to rise. She proudly represents brands like “Lady O’s Boutique,” “Thighz Unlimited,” “Boujee Boudoir,” Faschic Magazine, Chevonne’s Closet, Richgirl Intimates, Abella’s Eyewear, and many others as a brand ambassador. Her involvement with “Mesh Dollhouse” and “Queen Beehaviour” has not only aided her professional growth but also reaffirmed the power of sisterhood in her life.

In November, Bridget launched her own talent agency, Wilson Plus Talent & Consulting, with a focus on nurturing talent within the plus-size community. She recognized a void in the fashion and entertainment industry and decided to fill it, ensuring that everyone has an equal chance to shine.

Looking ahead, Bridget is poised to make even more waves. She’s set to walk the runway at Curvy Fashion Week in September and will grace the stage in the Beauty and the Beast show in July. Additionally, she proudly serves as a brand ambassador for XS Energy Drinks, demonstrating her boundless energy and passion for her craft.
