Finding The Beauty Within: Chasmine Iyonna

Teen Mom to Global Entrepreneur, Chasmine Iyonna’s remarkable story is an inspiring testament to the power of faith and perseverance. With a fearless hustle mentality, she has defeated all odds, building multiple successful businesses and brands.

Chasmine’s unwavering trust in God has been the guiding force in her life, propelling her to become a trusted voice, coach, and mentor to countless women and young ladies nationwide.

In 2018, Chasmine’s talents as a Celebrity Makeup Artist caught the spotlight, gracing the sets of Growing up Hip Hop Atlanta, WeTV, BET Awards, and more. Embracing her passion for empowerment, she mentored and coached 15 brand ambassadors to launch their own ventures.

Victoria Poole gave us an inside scoop into the life of Ms. Chasmine Iyonna when she had the opportunity to interview her.

Congratulations on your new book, Speak To Your Season. What advice could you give someone struggling to find their purpose or is choosing to run from their calling?

If you’re struggling to find your purpose, I’m confident my book will help. It’s easy to get overwhelmed trying to figure out the best path ahead. That’s why I suggest taking 30 days to go on a fast and focus on what God has planned for you.

Take this time to dig deep within yourself and examine why you’re struggling with committing to God’s call. That could be fear, a lack of understanding, or clarity. Either way, your fast can help you gain insight and clarity on the next steps you should take.

During this time, don’t be afraid to get creative with your process of learning and growing. Consider journaling, talking to a trusted advisor or mentor, or even going on walks to clear your head. At the end of the 30 days, you should better understand what God is calling you to do. 

 It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it in the end. Be sure to listen to your heart and take the time to figure out what the best path forward is for you. God bless!

What does finding beauty within look like, and how do you overcome your imperfections?

Finding Beauty Within is a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization that was created out of my own imperfections and insecurities to help strengthen the lives of students and young adults. Our five priority focuses are academic excellence, character
development, leadership, physical wellness, and Social-emotional learning. We are dedicated to helping our students grow into successful and empowered adults. We invite you to join us on this transformative journey!

I’ve been watching your journey and admire what you are doing with your mentoring program, Finding Beauty Within. What is the biggest challenge you see with today’s youth, and what strategies can parents implement to help create healthy environments or a safe space for their children?  

Thank you so much. I truly appreciate the support. One of the biggest challenges that we face is getting more parent involvement. We understand that life can be challenging and that some parents are occupied, but we need that involvement because, without it, the teenagers end up raising their younger siblings and themselves. 

To encourage more parent involvement, we’ve created programs and workshops to better support our youth and their families. We are pleased that we have seen a great improvement in this area but know that more progress is still needed. We look forward to continuing our journey of helping our youth in pursuit of a brighter future.

Social Media has both negative and positive influences on its USERS. What would you suggest to a teen negatively affected by it? 

Social media can be a great way to stay connected with family and friends, but it comes with some risks. That’s why I created a chapter within my Finding Beauty Within curriculum, specifically focusing on the dos and don’ts of social media.

In this chapter, we discuss tips for staying safe online, like not sharing personal information, pictures, locations, or personal business, and setting your privacy settings so only people you know can view your posts. We also talk about cyberbullying, how to identify it, and strategies for handling it.

Social media should be a source of joy—not fear. We can all navigate the digital world safely with the right skills and knowledge. I would tell that teen to remember You can be in control and that you have the power to make sure your experience with social media is a positive one. 

“To whom much is given, much is required’ Luke 12:48- Can you describe the moment you realized it was time to shift into ministry? What did you feel? What did you have to give up to make the transition?

In ministry, I had to accept we all have a responsibility to share the good news of the gospel and that responsibility carries both rewards and challenges. We are commanded to reach out to those in need and to minister to them in ways that will bring about lasting change. It’s our mission to be light in a dark world, and that is a heavy burden that requires us to continually step up and accept the call.

But we can’t be timid in fulfilling this mission – we have to embrace it fully and be open to change. It’s often difficult, and it often involves us having to step out of our comfort zones. We have to accept new responsibilities, build new relationships, and plant new seeds in order to see our ministry come to fruition. 

At times, it can feel overwhelming, but we must remember that God has already provided the plan for our success. He is with us every step of the way, so trust Him and put your faith in His hands. All things will work out for those who love Him and are called to serve Him faithfully. Together, let’s spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and lead others to His promises of hope and new life.

For a woman seeking a relationship with God, what step should she take to build a better understanding? 

If you are a woman looking to build a relationship with God, establishing a routine to connect with God is key. Spend time reading and meditating on scripture, and use biblical-based learning materials. Intimacy with God is not possible without spending time in his presence. The more you spend time with God, the better you understand him and the more he reveals himself to you. By doing this, you can gain clarity and knowledge of why you were created and your purpose in life. Remember to take this journey one step at a time and allow God to lead you. With this newfound knowledge and wisdom, just imagine what you could accomplish! Now that you understand this, you must accept the responsibility of knowing that you were created for a purpose in life. Begin to pay attention to the subtle signs, messages, and intuitions in your everyday life. Consider what opportunities are right in front of you. Ask yourself, “What am I being called to do?” and “What is my purpose?”

How do you manage your work-life balance with all the fantastic things you have going on? 

Whewww, being a global entrepreneur, I have to structure my life with a focus on work-life integration. I believe it’s possible to balance the demands of running a business while still enjoying life. That’s why I strive to maintain a daily routine and devote time to areas that need it the most. 

Throughout the year, it’s important to be flexible and adjust my priorities. If my children need more attention, I might take a step back from building my business. Other times, I’ll focus more on developing and sustaining a business that runs itself so I can attend to other areas of my life. 

Most importantly, I prioritize personal development. Every day, no matter how busy I am, I make time for self-improvement. This allows me to continue growing my business with a clear mind and open heart.

Integrating work and life can be difficult, but it’s necessary for achieving both success and happiness. With dedication and consistency, you can achieve both, too!

What can Atlanta expect from you in the future?    

Through my platform, I’m expanding my reach to schools throughout Atlanta in an effort to empower today’s youth by providing them with an equal opportunity to succeed. I am also dedicated to providing my book to public libraries for all residents of Atlanta so that more people can benefit from my message. 

In addition, I’m developing specialized programs that are tailored to the needs of the Atlanta community, which will incorporate my curriculum and utilize a wide range of interactive activities.

We want to provide everybody with the tools they need to find beauty within themselves and become the best version of themselves. We can make a positive difference in the lives of everyone in Atlanta, so let us join together and make it happen!
