Goal Diggers: Your Perspective Matters!

How to stay on track or get back on track halfway through the year.

As we crossed over into the year 2023, many of us intentionally pondered on all the wonderful things we wanted to accomplish during the year. We began to recite the scripture Habakuk 2:2-3 which says, “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry”. We did this exercise realizing that our words create an atmosphere of productivity. We created sticky notes affirming our vision, write them in planners and notebooks, displayed them on vision boards, created an action plan, and waited for the appointed time of execution. We worked tirelessly, looking forward to the day and time that our vision would come to fruition.

Vision is the art of seeing what is invisible to others!

With great determination, we were driven to prepare for the birth of our goals during the year because we wholeheartedly believed in the possibility of it manifesting in the year! Man…..what a glorious day it would be!

We are now halfway through the year and what if the unfolding and process of your vision did not happen in the manner you thought it would happen? Planned for it to happen? Prayed for it to happen? This can be heartbreaking, overwhelming, and discouraging. What do you do next???  I know it is so easy to feel that half of the year is gone and that you thought you would be further along in reaching your 2023 goals. I want to invite you to see things from a different perspective.  How about thinking, feeling, and embracing that you still have half of the year left to pursue and accomplish those goals!

You see, your positive perspective matters and is necessary to give you the hope and push needed to stay the course in pursuing your vision.  Seeing the year as half gone makes you see an impossible outcome but embracing that you have time left encourages you to see the possibility of it happening.  And that’s exactly where you need to be!!!

The latter part of the scripture says, “Though it tarry (the vision), wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry”.  This gives an indication that there just may be some obstacles that may delay your vision but, Be Encouraged! It will still happen!!!  Learn to keep your thoughts, words, and actions positive and pure toward your goals.  Be open to embracing your experiences as jewels on the journey even if they appear to only be rocks. Learn the lessons along the way and look for the value in what they can teach you. Keep going at all costs and don’t quit! I promise the lessons learned from the roadblocks, obstacles, and adversity are necessary to produce the finished product! You will then, and only then, embrace the experiences as jewels on the journey of birthing your vision!
