Restoration is Yours!

by: Sherelle A. Reed

We have all heard that the shortest distance between where you are and where
you are going is a straight line. But if we are honest, our road from present to
purpose has all sorts of twists, turns, and detours. The great news is that all of us
have the power within ourselves to get right back on track with our journey.
Some obstacles along our journey are at no fault of our own. They have been
inflicted upon us by others and outside circumstances. In this article, I would like
to focus on the detours that come about as a result of our own mistakes and/or
bad decisions.
Merriam-Webster defines restoration as: A bringing back to a former position or
condition; Reinstatement.
RESTORATION IS YOURS! Life can be challenging and sometimes the best decision for our lives are not as clear as we would like them to be. As we find ourselves making detours on our purposeful journeys as a result of our mistakes in life it is extremely important that we embrace and believe that our purpose is still attainable for us. It may get delayed but never denied.

The bible says in Romans 8:28, And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

There will be times that we cause ourselves to fall off course but GOD has a way of using it for our good! Our mistakes become our mission, our tests become testimonies and our errors become examples. So do not feel as though your mistakes have disqualified you from the purpose you set out to achieve. GOD can and will use them for your good. You can be restored!

All GOD wants us to do is return back to him, JUST THE WAY WE ARE! There’s no
need for you to clean yourself up, attain a certain level of success or complete the goal. GOD will work with you to get back on track. We just have to do 2 things,
Repent and Surrender! To repent means to ask for forgiveness and turn away
from your wrongdoing. Surrender means to give up your control to someone
else (GOD). So when we find ourselves off course due to our mistakes, we must
be willing to change our methods, ask for forgiveness, forgive ourselves and allow GOD to order our steps back on the road we were initially traveling. This is the power we have.

So if we want to regain our position in GOD and navigate back to the path we
were on, sometimes it takes a mind shift! Romans 12:2 says: And do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. So our
willingness to change our minds will change our lives and we can then receive the
restoration of GOD!
