Providing a Authentic Voice for Women in Twin Cites!

Kennadi Hurst :Songbird Givin Freedom to Dream More After COVID

Living in Minneapolis, and being aware of all the great talent in the Twin cities, you have to have heard the name Hurst. Kennadi Hurst is the daughter of the great David and Rachel Hurst, two dynamic artist in the gospel industry. The Family is know as the the Hurst family dynamic which is mother father daughter and son Jackson who is also artist on his own. But let’s get into Ms. Kennadi Hurst, 25 years old – singer, songwriter, director, worship leader, full-time performer, content creator, podcaster, and all-around artist! An awesome woman with many hats!

The core of her being is her faith, family, and community. Five years ago, she didn’t know at the time, that she was in a season of preparation. She was working a corporate job, thinking about her future but unsure of the path forward. She had many dreams and aspirations but no plan. Like most of the world, she was one of many to be laid off in 2020 due to COVID was a blessing in disguise that pushed me into purpose.

Being laid off opened a door for her to fully pursue her passion and gain her personal freedom! Kennadi wants to empower her community to become spiritually, emotionally, and mentally, and have economic freedom like she has been able to do with the opportunity that she was offered during the pandemic. Kennadi hope is that whenever she is using her gifts that someone is empowered to walk boldly into their freedom.

Kennadi stated that we see so many people suffering from addiction, depression, sickness, and oppression and she believes, in some ways her gift to sing can be a solution to these things. Not because she is special in any way but because the gifts she has are connections to an unending source that she hopes allows people to feel loved and see light in such a dark world.

Kennadi’s faith and family are her motivation! In times when she just doesn’t feel like moving or doing, she leans into that source and joy that she mentioned earlier. I’m also aware that my gift is not for me. It’s to give to others and I would be wasting all that I have if I didn’t share it.

We asked Kennadi to give us three items that you need to succeeded, and at 25 I believe this young lady has the right answers.

Money has nothing to do with it.

Fame has nothing to do with it.

Success is living in your purpose, on purpose, for purpose.

In closing Kennadi is the anything that you want to leave the people with?

“Maybe… “Architect of Joy” I love this saying because it makes it clear that all we need we already have on the inside of us.” Shout out to my communities! Church folks, Black folks, women folks, fat folks, and millennials! I am proud to be all of them and hope to positively impact all of them in whatever small ways I can!
