She has been recognized by Good Morning America, NBC LX, FOX 5, ABC, World Bride Magazine, and many more for her unique spin on a timeless tradition. Jewel strives to continue exposing the art of classical ballet to the masses and educating the next generation of ballet dancers.

“As a little girl, I always wanted to be a ballerina. My dance coach, Ms. Michelle,
significantly impacted my relationship with dance. I had a gift, and because of it,
my dad, who was a band director at Tucker High School, allowed me to put my
talents on display every Friday night for nine years when the band would hit the
field. As I got older, I became a choreographer at a few schools in the Metro
Atlanta Area, and ballet became a distant memory…” -Victoria

Victoria Poole was blessed to get an intimate look into the life of a real ballerina!!!

“Jewel, watching you dance so gracefully and eloquently takes me back to the
beauty of my childhood and past dreams. Speaking of the past, I remember when you were a little girl. You were one of the cutest kids I ever saw and had an amazing personality. I knew that you would be destined for great things. So, when I learned that you were a professional ballerina, I wasn’t surprised. Before we start the interview, I want you to know that I am incredibly proud of you and wish you nothing but the best in life and business.”

Interview Questions:

How did you come up with the concept of Jewel Ballerina LLC?
The idea of doing ballet at weddings came originally from my mom. She always told me that the two would combine beautifully and would be something extraordinary. My very first Flowerina performance came about when I received a DM from a bride on Instagram asking me to perform at her wedding reception back in June of 2020.

What is the most fulfilling part of your business?

The simple fact that I get to do what I love for a living is a blessing in itself. For me personally, the most fulfilling part of my business is being able to bring something memorable, extraordinary, and sentimental to my clients’ wedding days; realizing that a simple dance for 5 minutes can quite literally change someone’s life forever has been extremely rewarding.

How do you define success for your business, and how close are you to achieving that definition?

With my business, success comes in a lot of different forms. One goal I have for my business is to have Flowerinas in all the major cities (NYC, Houston, LA, Miami, etc.) So far, I have connections in Tennessee and LA, making this change will allow me to expand on a wider scale.

Watching you work with the young ballerinas in class is adorable! What advice would you give a child who is watching your journey and is inspired to open a dance company one day?

Teaching kids is such a fun journey! One piece of advice I would pass on to any young dancers out there is to understand that your hard work will always pay off. If you want to be really, really good or successful, you have to work really really hard. Everything balances out in time. You can never work
too hard at something you love.

What is the coolest or funniest thing that happened to you during a performance?

One of my most unforgettable experiences while working as a flowerina happened to me in May of 2023. I had the chance to travel to Martha’s Vineyard for a wedding. To get to the island, you have to ride on a crop-duster airplane, which was a new experience for me at the time. Also, at this particular wedding, there were 2 alpacas (the couple’s favorite animal). It was only right to have them attend the wedding reception!

If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you want to have?

If I were stranded on a island, I would want to bring along a notebook, a pen, and a polaroid camera. I would want to write down everything I experienced in my days on the island as well as visually document it.

If you had a time machine, would you travel to the future or back to the past?

I would travel back in time to before the creation of social media. While social media has helped me advance in my career, I am a firm believer that social media is ruining basic human relationships. I feel as though we have too much access to one another and it has utterly tarnished the way we as a human race interact, play, and communicate. Not too many people can appreciate what’s right in front of them anymore.

If you could perform with any musician, who would you pick and why?

A famous composer I would love to perform with is Hans Zimmer. His work is featured in many popular movies such as “Interstellar”, “The Lion King”, “Inception” and many more. I am a big fan of his music. I love the way he captures the emotion from a film and translates it into a melody-similar to how I dance. I think a collaboration between us two would be magical!

Fast Forward 40 years from now. What would you like to say was your greatest Accomplishment?

My future self would look back and say my biggest accomplishment was just sticking to my truth and deciding to turn my passion into a career. I kept pursuing dance in my own way despite me attending school, external opinions, or anything else. That will always be something I will take pride in; Staying true to myself.

If you could spend time with God, in the physical, for a day, what would you do, what would you ask him, and what would you gift him with?

Very good question! I am very spiritual and I know 100% that God anointed me with this gift for a reason. If I could spend time with him, I would ask out of all the people, why did he pick me to have this gift of dance? I would for sure dance for him and even ask to dance with him.

What should the people in Metro Atlanta and the world look forward to from the Jewel Ballerina LLC, and how can they support you?

People in the Metro Atlanta area should continue to be on the lookout for more extravagant and breathtaking Flowerina content from me and my company.
